ENGINEERING MAPPING

NZAM plays a significant role in land development and is employed each year to fly a large number of sites throughout the country. These can include planned roading project sites, quarries, farm park, coastal, and urban and rural developments. To produce roading and drainage engineering plans for development proposals surveying firms often require accurate contouring information and high resolution orthophotos. 0.5 metre contours may be required for the basis of their subdivision and engineering planning. For this NZAM will acquire new photography at a scale of 1:5000, from which 0.07m GSD (ground sample distance) orthophotos can be supplied. On completion of the subdivision NZAM can re-fly the site so real estate companies can use the new photography in their marketing campaign to sell the completed sites. Alternatively terrain data and imagery can be derived from our extensive photographic archive, or from LIDAR data acquisition.
